After much help from you all in solving my engine codes issues and a subsequent successful smog test, I set about to fix my misfire under load condition. Short story is found #4 plug moisture fouled and showing signs of corrosion. This explained my coolant loss with no over heating (yet). Truck has 75K on it and little use in the last 10 year...
any ideas?

...You are probably going to be looking for a new set of heads..:(

...You might also post a link and follow up message in your other thread so people know your result and new problem...;)

I would look at the intake gasket before I made the call of a bad head, I believe the intake runner is very closse to the coolant crossover on the #4cyl (and #3 being opposite corners), it could make a big problem an easy fix.

I read a thread somewhere that said the same thing...Any of our Guru's care to weigh in before I tear into it?

To buy me some time before pu;lling the intake and heater core, I put 2 tubes of Bars Leaks powder in the cooling system and it cleared up both my fouled plug issue and the leak in my heater core. CEL went out after 10 miles of driving.

Good deal, let know how long it stays fixed. My friends heater core was fixed that way 4 months ago,and it is still fixed.

Core still good but I have to pull the intake and replace the seal set...still have the CEL...:(
