I have searched, and cannot find a definitive answer for my weird problem....

When my X is running, coolant is dripping really fast out of the end of a small tube located on the firewall. The tube is black, and just sticks out of the firewall 1.5" on the passenger side. I don't know what that tube is for...so I have no idea what to fix/look for...

Couple of things...
I do not have a heater control valve,
My A/C smells like coolant, but my floor board is not wet.

Any help is appreciated:)

Sounds like the heater core went. If I remember correctly, Ford put a tray under the heater core with a tube through the firewall to keep the coolant from dripping into the interior if the core went.

I agree, heater core.. Mine did that a little while back, same syptoms except after a little while, the coolant started to leak onto the floormat

When the heater core on my '92 went, that's where the coolant came out.

yep, heatercore, pipe on the end where the inlet is might have rusted through

Sounds like the problem, I'll check it out. Thanks...

Did you mean WHEN the core went?
I've seen it 3 times in Fords I've owned

FOLLOW UP (Because no one does those anymore...grrr):

It was the heater core, leaking out the little drip tray. 40.53 CAN later, and about an hour, and I'm good to go:D

The hose connections were the worst part, they were stuck on there good after 11 years:(
