I am trying to find out the "official name" of a part that is leaking antifreeze on my explorer and cannot find it to order it. My brother says it is a reservoir bladder that hooks onto the waterpump but I cannot find anything by that name. attached is a picture of it. I know it is not the coolant tank but do notknow the name of this contraption. It located right side by the heads and just behind the distributor. water pump looks like it hooks into it as well. Any ideas?

Do you have a picture of it?

thermostat housing?

There's no distributor on an Explorer but the thermostat housing is located above the water pump and connects to it. They have a reputation for leaking. Here's a photo of my 2000 unit.

If that's what you're referring to there are threads with instructions on replacing it.
