Coolent pouring out below thermostat housing

Hey guys/gals,

I've got a 2007 Explorer V6 4.0 and suddenly there is a huge coolant leak directly below the thermostat housing and seems to be above the water pump. Basically directly where they meet. There is a rubber hose that is a few inches long that goes between the thermostat housing and the top of the water pump.

The water is pouring out so fast that I think it's just that little few inch long hose is leaking. The problem is is that I can't get it off of the water pump without destroying it. That's why I decided to post this question before doing so hopefully.

Would it seem that it is a faulty water pump since water is pouring out of it as fast as I can pour it in or does not not sound like a Water pump issue?

I removed the thermostat housing, serpentine belt and idler pulley to have better access. If I pour water into the radiator it just starts gushing out right in that area but I just can't get my eyes on it!

Last week I had another leak on the plastic tee that directs water either to the rear climate control unit and to the front heater core. I guess this is a common issue. And now this week this is happening...

Dry everything and only add enough to make it drip. If you think it’s the hose, cut it lengthwise with a razor to split it, and then replace it and see if it’s still leaking.
