Correct Thermostat Temperature -- 4.0 OHV

I think mine may be stuck open. It gets as low as 170 lately. I’ll be replacing it with a 195 Stant superstat.
I have a 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 overhead valve engine and my scan tool tells me that the coolant temperature is 178 and the temperature gauge is not far off of the beginning temperature at the sea level. I thought it was the temperature problem, so I replaced the sensor matter fact I replaced both sensors, the one to the ECU and to the gauge and no change.

Replace your Thermostat. Check it first before installing.
