I am needing to replace my DPFE module and have found places that carry them. Is $50+ a resonable price for this part?

I recently replaced mine for my '02. Got it at AutoZone for $40 or so bucks.

Seems about right. I can't remember what I paid, but it wasn't huge. Make sure to get the black plastic Motorcraft one. The metal version is probematic and is the older version.

Has anyone had a DPFE line melt...

Did you check for a restriction in the exhaust system? I have had one of these melt on another vehicle thanks to a clogged[melted actually] primary catalytic convertor element...

Buy only Ford or Motorcraft!

Agreed- the metal one usually doesn't last the winter... :)

I totally agree with buying a motorcraft one. I bought a motorcraft dpfe sensor about a year ago on ebay for $35 shipped and brand new. But $50 is still not bad if its a motorcraft part.
