I have a 1999 Ford Explorer Sport

The transmission is "out" and needs replacing.

What is a ballpark figure that I am looking at to have it replace....out-the-door-price.

I live in the Dallas, Texas area.

Remember.....just looking for a ballpark figure.

Thanks!

Roughly $2500

I just got a quote for over $3000. Dealer is gonna pull it for me, and I'm taking it to a friend for rebuild. Still gonna cost about a grand :(

I had mine rebuilt on my 2000 xlt about 2 years ago and it cost me about $1200.

I just got the bill......1,763.09

This sounds like it is "in the ballpark"

I think the repair shop sent out the transmission to another shop and then installed it after they rebuilt it.

This might be a common practice of auto repair shops, I don't know.

Anyway, I pick up the vehicle today and hope it holds together for at least another year. I should be able to buy newer vehicle at that time.
