Costco and Tires

I went out to Costco to check on the price of new tire and asked about the BF Goodrich All Terrian TA KO. The sales kid said that they are not allowed to sell me any tire that did not come stock on the Explorer. Has anyone else run into this problem?

thats strange, ive had two explorers and 3 new sets of tires. never had a problem, and two of the sets didnt come stock on the expo

When I was looking for that exact same tire, Costco would sell to me, but they were the highest quote I received Maybe they just don't like us Explorer people...

If you like the tires/price, buy em and have them mounted elsewhere....

Costco will not any tires that are not stock ar an approved equal. It is a liability issue, damn lawers.

Not necessarily. I got a set of 31's from Costco installed on my Lifted Cherokee. They were more than happy to do it.

Take just the rims in, and tell them they are for a FX4 Ranger

when i was tire shopping, they said they would do it for me, only becasue it has a lift. they will put whatever you want on an explorer as long as it is "modified"

Experienced the say thing at a Goodyear Retailer. They just would not sell me anything other than 235/75R15.
