Could be Blend Door, but is it????

Hello All. 2000 E/B, AWD, 5.0 with auto climate control. Wifes truck. She went over some VERY rough RR tracks. Bad enough that she looked in rear veiw mirror to see if anything had come off the vehicle Every since, all vent selections, fan speeds and temp display work fine. However, only hot air blows regardless of temp setting. A/C works fine in regular & Max. Is their anything else besides the Blend Door that can cause this??? I changed the heater core in a friends '96 ranger (removed dash) and don't want to remove this dash unless I have to!!!

Yeah, the blend door is the only thing that comes to mind for me. There's a chance that the arm that moves the door was jarred loose. I would start there, and hope that's it. Good luck!

Thanks MayJan. I'll check the arm first. Then remove the dash I aint lucky enough for it to just be the arm I might be able to do it tomorrow??? THANKS Again!!!!

Hello all. I have fixed the problem and wanted to post it for any who have or get the same problem. It was a tiny plastic gear in the electric actuator motor that sits on top of the plenum. The motor has a shaft that fits into the top end of the blend door. Of course, you have to replace the whole unit, dealer item ($53.00). I removed the dash to get to it. Very easy to do!! Whole job (except going to dealer) took about 4-5 hours without rushing!!
