Ok so I hooked my interior neon lights to one of my two cig lighters. My neons came with 12v fuse. After only being hooked up for a day, the fuse is already done. Is there to much power being ran through or is just a cosidense. I did flip the switch to the neons, rather fast.

I can't tell you the voltage drop for each Neon Lights or teh string but if you are blowing the fuse usually the reason is that you are drawing too much current.

As little x has stated determine the correct amperage draw for the string you are using.
Maybe the original info with the lights will tell you or talk to someone that knows the current rating of Neons.

What was the amperage rating of the fuse that you toasted ?

The neons are 12v each. Not sure about the amps but the fuse in my box is a 20 amp fuse. The cylinder style fuse, leading to the switch (for my neons) I believe is 12v. It is very small. Advanced didn't even have anything that small when I went in today. I am trying AutoZone tomarrow (fingers crossed).

You need to find out how many watts each light generates. If each one generates lets say 20 watts, and you have 6 of them, then you have a 120 watt load. 120 watts/ 12 volts = 10 amp draw, so the 20 amp fuse should be working just fine (all theoretical numbers). You need to do the research into your lights to see what the current draws are.

Ok, I found the fuse that popped was a 6amp, 12v. The guy at Radio Shack said to try a 10amp fuse instead. I looked at the directions and the only thing they state is that they are 12v. How important is this fuse that came with the neons, if I have a a 20 amp fuse in my fuse box, leading to the cig. lighter? Would it hurt anything to take the fuse out, that came with the lights and replace the 20amp fuse with a 15amp fuse, in my fuse box?

You don't want to just throw a bigger fuse at it, unless it needs it. You MUST find out what draw the lights have. Call the company and ask. We CAN NOT answer your questions until you do.
Either A: You've over loaded that fuse and just need to take a small step up (how big of a step, we don't know).
Or B: Something is crossing, shorting, and blowing the fuse, in which case putting in a larger fuse is dangerous for you and your lights because it will allow more power to improperly flow before it blows.

my 2 cents
your problem most likly isnt the fuse size i run 9 cold cathlode and my cb on a 7.5 amp fuse
and r u sure they r not cold caths and not neon its pretty hard to find neon these days most use cc
make sure ones of your connections didnt come off and ground out watch out for sharp surfaces
just a tip i always solder my connections because everytime i dont something goes wrongs i have fried xbox's :)

Alright. I took all my connections apart and cleaned them up as best as I could. I also bought a 7amp fuse, instead of that 6 which burnt out. That was a week ago, haven't had a problem since.
