Hello guys,
been trying to figure out this problem but i cannot seem to find what it is... so basically i have put brand new
shocks
lower control arm assembly
stabiliser link
rack and pinion complete

i am still having two issues,
1) while braking or acc, i hear a single "tuk" sound coming somewhere from the front. most noticeable is when the car is in reverse and i need to press the gas in order to move slightly.

2) on uneven roads where both the front tires are moving separately (different road pattern unlike a hump) , there is a wobbly feeling felt mostly on the gas pedal coming from undeneath front middle... its just a feeling with no sound nut the passenger side cannot feel or hear it at all...

it looks as if something which hold both the front tires together is loose or wobbly.. i dont think its the suspesnion.. its something else... i tried to go underneath the car and noticed two very big mounts in the front and another mount in the engine bay... do you guys think those mounts could be the problem? i also didn't replace the strut mounts as the dealer said it still looks ok.... By the way the car doesn't

1) Jerk on changing gears
2) no excess engine movement when i press the gas
3) no noise on turning
4) no noise on speed bumps

Did you try changing the struts/ strut mounts? It did the trick for my popping noise.

Yup, I had a pop noise on my Explorer as well but it was more of when I turned the steering wheel even when I wasn't moving. The mount was twisting/binding. Changed the passenger side out and a few months later I hear it again and think it is the left side this time. Should have done them both while I was at it.

Wife 2011 had a clunk like noise when she accelerate from a stop or come to a stop. Never when steering or going over bumps. Sounded like it was coming from the front right of the car. I replaced everything, struts, control arms, end links. Finally had someone look at the motor while I had it in D, with the Ebrake on, and I stepped on the gas. did the same with it in R. Engine was moving up about 6in. Replaced all 3 mounts (engine, trans, and torque). Noise gone.

Thanks for the replies, I tried to test it your way, the motor doesn't move at all...
Are the pin of the front strut mount suppose to move when I turn the steering left to right? I just added a small video... Is this normal ? Thanks
