hey guys..i have a stock 94 xlt 4x4, a4ld, pretty standard fare..having a couple issues i cant seem to resolve though..

1. high RPM hesitation/stumbling..anywhere 4000 rpm or above the engine stumbles..runs PERFECT anywhere else in the rev range..ive replaced the PCV, checked for vacuum leaks, cleaned the MAF, cleaned the IAC, replaced the air filter, changed oil (10w30 to 5w30), run injector cleaner, replaced the fuel filter, replaced plugs and wires with Bosch Platinum +4s and bosch premium wires, swapped coil packs with my dad's 92, swapped MAFs with my dad's 92, replaced the EGR valve..im stumped..

2. theres a pronounced 'clunk' that seems to come from the passenger side front floorboard area during a WOT upshift..

3. takes almost 2 full seconds to shift from park to reverse,1,2,d, or od..transmission was supposedly rebuilt a month before i bought it..fluid level is fine..was thinking about trying some lucas tranny fix? worked wonders in the a4ld in my b2

4. when making a sharp right turn (never noticed this with a left...) theres a bad shudder through out the whole truck..i cant tell where it comes from though..my axle seals leak BAD, and i know the fluid is a little low..maybe a lot low..it was dark last time i added (2 weeks ago)..i think the differential might be damaged so am trying to get a new axle..i dont have the tools or a place to do gears..

id really appreciate any help you guys can give me..i love this truck but its wearing me and my bank account out..

I would put MotorCraft or AutoLite plugs in it. You may need to upgrade your reverse servo o-rings in the tranny.

Transmission mount or u-joint? I would think if it were a tranny mount you'd hear it in all shifts during WOT

check the radius arm bushings. right one normally goes first

i do need a new RAB..the guy who did them before me..well..the nut was LOOSE

as far as the tranny mount..ill crawl under and check whenever it decides to stop raining :fire:

anyone else? as far as the hesitation?

thaknks..

anyone??

Just a stab...are your plugs gapped correctly?

Some codes probably be pulled if you went to an autoparts storm, some do this for free for a customer.

What about O2 sensors?

I dont know about the bosch wires. I havent had them on my explorer. But they make my tbird run like CRAP! After That bad experience I swore them off forever.
