Couple of AWD questions

Did the Explorer or Mountaineer ever come with the 4.0L V6 and AWD?

If so...

What transfer case was used? Was it full time AWD or Torque on demand?

I had a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer with AWD and a V8 engine. I am old, so I only refer to engines in cubic inches. ..

4.0L was the V6, I'll add that to the OP. IIRC the 4.0L was 245 cubic inches. The V8 was a 5.0L or 302 cubic inch.

the awd viscous coupling case hooks up to the transmission for the 5.0 , but not the transmission for the 4.0,,
