Couple of quick questions

I did a search and it came up with some results but i did not get the information i wanted so i am asking again

1. ESP - What is a fair price to pay? i read the dealer cost for 7year 100k 0 deductible was $600.00 and some one said they paid 1000 but they were in Canada. Is there an online dealer that has a consistent good price that you guys recommend?

2. EMP - Extended Maintenance plan - My dealer ship will give me life time warranty on the engine and the trans as long as i maintain the car through one of their dealerships. They offered a Ford Maintenance plan for 2800 and off course i passed but as it is by Ford can i find a better price online?

3. My Caddy auto locks when the key fob is about 10-15 feet away. Is this a setting on the Explorer?

4. Sync account says it is free for 3 years than there is a fee does any one know how much is that fee?

5. Do we have App support like pandora on the Ex?

6. Where can i find the factory number code so that i can change the door lock number code?

7. I have 302A plus extras package the 302A says rear heated seats but i do not see a button for that? i have the rear bucket seats. where can i find it?

8. Can you put music on the SD card and play music from it?

9. How much is the SD card map update? can you just copy a SD card from anther car or is it tied to the VIN like in my caddy?

10. Does the center console play DVD videos? Can i put MP3s on a dvd?

2 - EMP, IMO it is worth it, worry free ownership of a vehicle prone to require attention / fixes
3 - sounds like a setting, not sure
4 - this is the first I heard about this, I've had mine since 2011 and never came across this...I hope not!!
5 - no apps
6 - ask your dealer I would say
7 - don't know as mine didnt have that option
8 - Yes you can, but then you won't have NAV. You have a USB and BT, why would you even need to use an SD card?
9 - don't know
10 - no it does not play DVDs, unless something changed after the 2011 models. Usually this is disabled as a safety feature. Unsure of a bypass at this time.

The heated seats only operate when the ignition is on.
To operate the heated seats:
Press the button located on the rear of the floor console to

1.Dealer cost for a $50 deductible, no 1st day rental, 6 year 100,000 for FWD is right around $1000.

3. No auto lock that I am aware of.

4. $60 per year for sync services.

6. Dealer should have given you a tag with the number on it. I'm pretty sure you can find that in MFT? It also tells you how to find it in the manual.

7. Near the rear controls for the back seats. You need to be in the back seat to turn them on, unless you have long arms.

8. Yes, but you lose Nav. Use a USB, as suggested by CDN_explorer.

10. You can put MP3's on a CD, but again get a USB flash drive.

1) $600 is BS. ESP's are cheaper in the states then in Canada. My 125k/6yr $100 deductible Premium care with 1st day rental was $1,700 (+/- a couple dollars). I get ESPs at cost. To go to a $0 deductible is almost $400 more (approximately 2,100) and to add a 7th year on top of that, you are looking at $2,400 +/- (that is cost). Now I was surcharged about $200 because I bought it over the 1yr/12k warranty so you are still looking at $2,200-$2,300 at cost.

2) The same online dealers that sell discounted Ford ESP plans will sell discounted Maintenance plans BUT if you are in Canada, the US can't sell to you unless you have a US address to register it.

3)No auto lock when you walk away.

5)Applink is coming to all 2010+ models via an update. Ford just announced this within the past month so you will be able to support Pandora and things like that through MFT.

I see most of your questions have already been answered, so I'll stick to these two.

4. The current pricing for SYNC Services is $60 a year. This price is subject to change in the future; however, we will let everyone know if it does change.

9. We don't currently have a price for new SD cards. Once we do, it'll be on our suppliers website here:

If you lose your SD card, you'll have to visit your dealership for a new one and they may charge you for it. Keep in mind, if you did not order your Explorer with navigation, you cannot add it to your vehicle by inserting a map SD card.
