regards to the dash lights for cruise control, it was only added to the 98 and on models with the updated features on the dash clocks, why would you want to remove the badge? you would be left with a indent of it?

Cheers for the info, not sure if mine is the updated feature dash, its a late 98 model, guess i'll have to check, i just wasnt sure if the dash light bulb had gone.

re the badge, i just want to take it off and then put it back on after ive added somethgin to the front that i'll post a picture of when ive done it :)

on the dash clocks does your door light illuminate in the top middle, then yes you have the cruise light, mines blown aswell, gonna fit a set of white leds to get my needles looking better.

Yes There is a cruise control light in the instrument panel.

And the fuel filter is inboard of the driver's side frame rail -- pretty much under where the driver's feet would be. Looks like this :

Just checked, yup door ajar light is in the middle at the top! guess my cruise light has gone, where SHOULD it be ?

I just bought some real nice LED's on ebay from Hong Kong, they arrived within 5 days! good thing about them is they have resistors built into them for direct connect to 12v, i bought twenty huge 10mm white ones with the intention of trying to do a rear light mod some day when ive time and get an old pair of rear lenses to try them out on:)

Let me know how you get on with the dash LED's id be interested in doing the same

cheers for the fuel filter info, ive got a replacement to fit along with the fitting release tool for the pipes, just had a look under today and couldnt see anything! will check it out tomorrow

i did go one step further and fit glow guages but that was only for the 96-97 models, i had white leds for the needles tho!.

I think i remember you (or maybe it was someone else) doing this and you had access to a code reader that enabled you to take off the needles and put them back on correctly ?

oh yes it was me, unfortantly i cant get hold of guages for the later models due to the layout. but its the only pic i have of the white needles as an idea of how they look.

Reason i wanted to take the badge off was a friend picked me one of these up in the US last week and brought it me back today,

It was only 35 quid and looks the dogs bollox! the whole front grill is now shiney chrome instead of the dull black and grey finish of the grill. However it would look best of the badge was taken off and put back on after ftting.
Will take some pics tomorrow

i need a set of clocks for mine (with cruise control light) as mine are playing up
the badge is removed from behind the grille with 2 10mm nuts

Excellent cheers! Where excactly should the light be on the dash ?

the top very far left, shine at it with torch and you will see a rev counter picture plus other signs it doesnt use.

ok, so i gave up with the idea of taking the badge off and replacing it after the add on grill, the whole grill seemed a bit too much hassle to remove to get to the back of the Ford badge. i dont think it looks too bad at all as is.
Its difficult to take a good pic as its so reflective but yesterday in the sunlight it looked fantastic, today in the rain it doesnt look as good. The finish is excellent on them and for thirty five quid its a steal! however a friend brought mine over with him and shipping is another $50 if you buy it off the webiste. id have paid it though having now seen it!

takes a couple of seconds to fit, you just place it over the existing grill and push it on to fit, a couple of tabs lock onto the old grill to secure it and thats it!
