I have a 1993 Ford Ranger 2.3Liter engine. I need to remove the crankshaft center bolt.

Is this a right or left handed thread ???

The dealership told me it is a 14mm x1.5mm pitch right hand thread, but I'm not sure as I have been wrenching on this bolt and it just doens't want to give. Tried, among other things, a 1/2" impact wrent, and 1/2" torque bar with a 20" piece of pipe, but couldn't get this bolt to come loose. Thinking someone must have put for loctite on the bolt.
Next am planning to use some heat.

But I'm wanting to know if anyone else has had experience removing crankshaft center bolts.

I just looked in my Haynes (93-96 Ranger) and it doesn't have any mention of left handed, so that backs up what the dealer says. FWIW

When I went with a UDP/damper, I used the motor to brake loose the nut.

I put an impact socket on a breaker bar and wedged it against the frame and bumped the motor; worked like a champ.

Good luck ....
