Replaced my powersteering pump last summer, and my buddy lost the cap to the reservoir. I tried buying different ones from the parts store, and they never got me the right one. Its winter now, and I need an actual cap on it so my wife can drive it around.

Any one have one or a part number?

Thanks!

"Help!" rack at the parts store. Dorman 82582 I looked it up for a '95 Mustang, with 5.0L, but that part# fits just about all Ford power steering pump reservoirs.

how about the local wrecking yard, and get one for peanuts ??

The rubber (or whatever it is) seal "wears" out over time. A used one may not seal. Plus, most junkyards I know of won't "bother" with something like that. They also would rather not have the pump exposed to the elements, ruining a more expensive part. They also don't want to risk spilling the fluid on the ground.

The Dorman part is less then $10 I think.

Yea the local scrap wouldn't take the time of day to check. Or would sell me the whole assembly. I should have kept track of the part numbers Ive tried. I Dont know if I have a different reservoir or what, but it uses a rather small cap. I still have one on hand I can write that one down and go from there.

And I appreciate the help, thanks
