Ok here is where I am. I have 3''s of TT and 3'' spindles. I can take the TT all the way to 5''s if i wanted but right now my upper BJ's are stressed from the angle. Now yeah I could get custom control arms to fix my negitive camber but WHAT IF I used the spindle spacer that Trailmaster uses on thier 4'' suspention lift for the 4x4? This in sence would raise the control arm up to where the BJ would be at a perfect perpendicular angle to the spindle. Basically what I am saying is if I crank my T-bars up for 4''s of lift and put the 4'' spacer between the CA and the spindle could it work to fix my camber?

ok going with my math I dont think it will work. I think this because the added spacer will no longer let the control arms sit paralell which would cause binding I think or at least funky tire wear. It will be able to be algined perfect but as soon as you would hit a bump the camber would go negitive QUICK I would think. Any opinions?

Edit: added more

I think that's actually one of the weaknesses of the Trailmaster kit. That is why the Superlift kit uses new nodular knuckles instead of balljoint spacers. Also, that spacer isn't going to do anything for the extreme angles of your CV joints.

Edit - I forgot you were 2WD, so CV angles don't matter. :p BUT I still think they are a weak point.

yeah I thought I saw someone complaining about them but I searched and searched and couldn't find anything. I called around looking for the part noone stocks it and they have to get it strait from trailmaster. I havent found a price yet but if I can get them for 75$ or less then I'm gonna try it.

seems like it puts a lot of leverage on where that spacer connects to spindle, i only say that because i have custom uppers with like a 2" spacer and bent the pin that connects my arm to the spindle

heres a pic of the arm connected to the spindle and you can see that big spacer on top of the spindle

what did your uppers cost you?

a guy made em for me for 700, made of 4130 cromoly and a 1 inch uniball. he has some on his truck and he could easily get 4-6" of TT because of the uniball not binding and the angle of the cup the uniball is in, look at my pic and see how the arm wont bind.... thats even at full droop with out shocks limiting it

What if you got something like that muddy? Wouldn't it get messed up?

Holy smokes, $700 for upper control arms?!

I found a picture to your problem:

I'm sure you can find one for cheap and this will help you figure out your situation. But about your idea -- I think it's worth a shot, or atleast rigging up something to correct it. Some type of spacer. Good luck. If you need pics of the Trailmaster spacer - let me know - or just come by.

actually I found two pictures:

Why not just have a local Fabshop make new uppers using better Ball joints. There are ball joints out there that will handle 40-50* of movement.

Total Chaos uses Caddilac Upper ball joints on their toyota and nissan kits unless you yoptfor the more expensive uniballs. Look up Carolina Rock Shop online. They could prolly talk to you about custom Uppers, and have em finished in a day.

its called I still owe like 9k on it ;)

mud and crap wont do anything to the uppers
