Creak in front end suspension 4/24/04

My front drivers side is making a really loud creaking noise. It sounded at first like the brakes but I checked them. I removed the wheel and spun the rotor and it doesn't seem to come from the brakes or bearing. It is almost immediate when I start moving the noise changes as I turn the steering wheel but is very loud. Sounds like something rotating?

Bearing, bushing?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Oh yeah it is a 1996 Explorer Sport 4x4 with auto trans.

get the suspension checked could be a balljoint or a tierod
