2020 Explorer Platinum
I am looking at buying a 2020 Explorer Platinum used with approx 48,000 miles, however I don’t like that the drives seat and the passengers seats have creases in them. (See attached pics) are all Platinums like this? Is this fixable or do they end up cracking? We owned 2 explorers before this and neither of those look like these seats. Just disappointed at how expensive these are but the seats look like they are 10+ years old.

Almost looks like an exceedingly overweight person or persons drove around in this. Very strange indeed.

imo its stretched so not fixable unless you get it reupholsyered. how is the foam underneath?

10 month old '21 Platinum with 7k miles looks like this, notice the seat bottom has a very small wrinkle

Wow those seats look horrible. I agree, seems like a really overweight person had the vehicle. No way should they be even remotely like that in 50k.

Granted I have an ST but at 53k, there is very little wear on the seats.

Welcome to the Forum.
Looking at those seats I would think that the material underneath is shot as well. Given the mileage, your factory warranty has expired. Do you know if there is an extended warranty on it? I would think that new seats would be required. Check with the dealer and make it part of the purchase agreement.

Unless the foam is shot, you should be able to get new seat skins and replace them. Its not cheap but its not out of the world. I've swapped seat skins before and its a pain but not the end of the world. Negotiate a little bit off with the seller due to the seats.

If somebody was heavy enough to flatten those seats you might want to check the bottom of the steering wheel I’m sure their belly has rubbed portions of the leather off the steering wheel every time they turn the wheel
