Ford Explores XLT,4x4, 1995,

Hi Guys. since I've bought the car last year, the cruise control and horn would not work. No light or function will happen when trying to set the cruise control on. Also windshild wiper and spray sometimes work sometimes not. I have to switch few times to make it work. The horn had similar situation, too. I had to push several times until it suddenly blew. lately it would not do at all. I checked the fuses inside the car. there are no burnt one. Any idea what might be the problem?
Thanks

Fuse # 10 in underhood fuse box will get the horn & cruise cont. working.

Wiper problem is probably the mulit-function switch.(turn signl. stalk) New on is $50. at Ford & they usually have them in stock as they are replaced often.

Horn/cruise fuse may have blown because of bad horns. Horns are located under battery & accessed by removing inner fender.

Thanks for quick reply. No #10 fuse. 8 MINI, 12 MAXI, 7 relays, and 3 diode. Only 8 mini fuses, and all are OK, no blown one. You mean there is another fuse inside the horn itself ?

Do you have the owners manual for your explorer, if so just look up the fuses and check which one is for the horn/cruise for both to not be working its almost got to be the fuse so once you find out which one it is you might want to change it even if looks good because sometimes they will burn out and still look good

Your horn is grounded out. The horns on the Explorers are prone to grounding themselves, which in turn grounds out the cruise control.

Mine did the same thing. After I replaced everything else, I was told about the horn. That was the problem....

The wiper and washer is the switch arm itself. Mine still does it. You have to replace the switch arm to fix it. We have done my Ranger and my mom's Merc Grand Marquis. I still have to do the Explorer.

ON EDIT: I see you are in Atlanta - call Rusty Huggins at Spartan Lincoln Mercury in Morrow. 770.968.3412. Tell him David gave you his number, and he can help you out. I used to live in Atlanta, and always dealt with him (he's still one of my best friends). I still get all my parts from him and get him to mail them to me...

could be the clockspring inside the steering wheel, is the air bag light flashing at all?

Thanks for all the replies. I do not have the manual, wonder if there is any where online to be able to find manual for fords. I'm going to check fuses first. Then if they're OK I'm going to connect -for a moment- the horn directly to battery to see if it works. As far as I checked the is no light coming for airbag. Thanks you'll

Guy I did some tests, first I could find manual online at http://www.genuineflmservice.com/default.asp?page=E4
I checked fuse charts for both fuse boxes but still I could not find a fuse relating to cruise control.
Then I pushed and moved the horn under battery few times, thiking if it's grounding problem -as a budy said earlier- it might momentarily circuit the grounding, and it did! horn started to work. But cruise control still not working. Also I noticed that air bag light is ok. it goes off shortly after the car is on. so it should not be related to that as Ford_Racing_Guy said. Then I opened two cruise control madules on both sides of steering wheel. wires are OK. but when I turn on lights , the illuminator light bulb on cruise control won't turn on. can they be dead and problem be related to them not working and circuit disconeccted somehow??
