similar cruise control problems

Brooklyn Bay, what you describe is what I am experiencing on my 95XLT. I have no horn and no power on to both cruise control switches. What is a "bad clock spring" and how do I replace it? I know how to remove the cc switches and airbag but still haven't gotten around to it. Also, I assume airbag is working since inflation light comes on when vehicle started and then goes out as normal.

Any suggestions before I order new cc switches:us:

The clock spring is the part with the rotary contacts. It's a fragile part. You have to open the steering column, and remove the steering wheel with the air bag to get to it. Disconnect your battery, and wait a minimum of 10 minutes for the power in the air bag module to drain. Your air bag could deploy if you do it too soon.

clock spring question

BB,

Before I crack this open, had a few questions. Do you think that the spring broke or just stop making contact? So the cruise and the horn make contact through the spring? I assume that Ford has the replacement part and I don't have to lurk through junk yards.

Thanks for shedding the light on an area that I wouldn't of looked at.

Check the switch on the master cylinder too.
It's known to fail and when it does, cruise will not engauge.
