Well... it's now tax season, and with my refund, I'm going to fix a few things that have bothered me for some time. One of those problems is the cruise control. I really miss having it and want to get it working again.

When the cruise control is set, it holds the correct speed, only it "pulses." For example, if you set it at 75, it feels like it goes up and down approximately one mile per hour. If you look closely at the tachometer, you can slowly see it move. The problem is mostly noticeable only at higher speeds (interstate). Although it's noticeable at lower speeds, it's far less noticeable.

Anyone have any clue what this might be?

Thanks in advance!

Come on, someone's gotta know something!

The cruise control on the Explorers have been a problem. Mine has not worked for a year and a half now. Mine will not even engage.. Before mine went out it pulsed like that. Dont know if thats a indication of anything specific though.

Go to your dealer and buy (about $20) the upgraded CC disengagement switch wire that connects to the brake master cylinder...worth a try.

After doing some research, it appears it could be the speedometer cable. Anyone else familiar with this?
