Cruise control question

I have a question about cruise controls. Everything on my cruise works on my 89 Bronco II except the resume. Anybody have any clues? I have pulled the steering wheel and looked at the wiring going to the buttons in the steering wheel. Anybody help?

In the cruise control box there is a zener diode that sends a signal to the chip for "resume"function. The website I used to check the wiring is

This may help you troubleshoot the problem. I verified my box was bad after checking the wiring, and swapping it out with another vehicle. My box was totally fried.
