Curtain for my XP, how to remove the ...

Hi,

i want to sleep in my XP II from time to time and therefore i would like to have a curtain (to keep out light, heat and curious viewers) as i had in my old VW T3. I already have the grey velvet fabric, but still need a solution to fix it in the car. I found screwable buttons on Ebay (#170215924121) that would perfectly fit on those places:

I tried to remove them (don't know how this is called) to see what is underneath, but they did not go off. Does anybony know how to remove this covers without destroying them and is this a good place to fix a button as shown here ....

... with a screw?

The easiest way especially without destroying the fasteners is to get a panel removal tool from an auto store.

They're pressed in. They're actually only designed for one use (one installation, one removal) but I've removed and reinstalled them successfully.

I've thought about curtains for the Ex before, but didn't want to go drilling holes. It might be interesting if those snap holes can be used to mount the curtains without having to make any new holes in anything.

You could also get some sticky back Velcro squares and just stick them on the trim panels, and the other side on the curtains.

Good call. I highly recommend the 3M Dual Lock if you go that route. It's the same stuff that holds up the EZ Pass. It's kind of expensive, but you don't need much. I want to say $4.50/ ft, but that's only one side. It sticks to itself. So, in actuality, $9.00/ft. But you'd only need a 2" piece every couple feet and at the corners. It could hold up a brick and it's very heat resistant.

Thanks for the suggestion of 3M Dual Lock! It is really pricy (3,50 € for 50 cm), but seems to be good. Anyway, i would prefer those buttons, they simply look a little bit more professional than velcro. I'll again try to remove one of the covers, just to be able to see what is under them. If there is a way to fix any type of screw i'll would prefer that.
