well i have just completed this and will have pictures up soon. The vent and four wheel drive control above the radio are now gone. I pulled that out and custom filt a plate over it. i trimmed the holes for the gauges and covered the plate with black felt. I used craft bond to glue it on there. I got a vent tape and duct tape and blocked off that vent. I plugged the new piece with the gauges in after i wired them up. It now contains a water temp gauge and an oil pressure gauge, both sunpro, like 2.5 inch gauges with orange backlight and needle. It looks extremly trick, hopefully i can get a pic up by this weekend. My home computer is down so i have to use this one at school.....

Looks good!!!! I did that on my '89 Ranger except I only put 1 smaller gauge where the empty spot was and left the vent.

I've seen several second gen rangers with one guage in the empty spot. Was that for the electric t-case switch? Mine was manual, so it was the empty one.
