Well I just received my KKM and thought maybe I could make some sort of shield like for the FIPK Systems. Took a little shim stock from work and played around. Now I know...It is not nearly as pretty as the FIPK one's, but, It was free, and still serves the purpose I think.

What do you guys think of it???

I think it looks pretty good but do those sheilds really do much? I am doing a custom job. I got a ractive air filter and now I am getting the flange made up so I can put it on. I was wondering if fabricating something like that would be worth it.

Well....for the material (free) and the time (1 hour) I figured It wouldn't hurt. It may keep some heat away from the filter, and maybe some debris that comes up in the engine compartment. Don't really know if it helps or not, but they are supposed to shield hot air from the engine from coming in the intake.

Very nice. I did almost the exact same thing. I did notice a slight power increase, made noticable cause the supercharger tends to multiply small power gains. Mine doesn't go all the way up to the hood though cause firstly it was easier that way, and secondly it can still be fed air from the radiator fan. Mainly mine shields from direct header heat. Other rerouted (from stock) components already shield from the blower heat, and the windshield washer bottle shields from coolant heat.

One suggestion, get some channel weatherstripping and cover the top of the metal plate. If not, you're gonna cut yourself on it sooner or later.

Yeah...I already have some to put on. I accidentally left it at work when I went to install. I know though....I already pictured slicing my arm open on it...and it wouldn't be pretty. On the overall install....what a difference in sound. You can hear the engine just gulping in the air now. My dad came over with his Z06 and heard it on my 4.0L....and said "I definately have to get something like that.".

Lol, slap an Eaton blower on your X and you're dad'll want one on his Z06 too ;)

Missing clamp

Hey great job. But I am sure you noticed that you forgot the MAF/Intake tube clamp, right?

The clamp is on there...its black and really hard to see with my crappy camera.
