A couple days ago I noticed something dripping on the garage floor, upon closer inspection it appears to be from the front left CV boot. I did some searching here, but am not finding results hence starting a new thread.

Are people typically replacing the entire axle or just the boot itself? Is there a DIY available anywhere? And are the axles available at Rockauto reliable replacements?

I had searched, but all the results I found were for earlier generations of Explorer. I assume replacement is fairly similar and not that difficult, I would just prefer to follow a DIY for the correct generation!

Thanks.

I am pretty sure it's DIY. I do not think anybody does the boots itself anymore. If the grease leaked out, the UJ may be shot as well.
