D44 and 9" questions

Obviously, thats why i asked what rotation it was, then i'd have to a reverse rotation gear.

You cant stick a reverse rotation gearset in a standard rotation housing and have it run the other direction- it doesnt work that way. No one makes just a reverse cut gear set for the 9" anyway... you have to get a new 3rd member from either Currie or High9. Either one is big bucks.

Dont worry about the low pinion on the 9", just point the pinion at the transfer case when you weld the perches on.
 






Yeah i figured that out. I did some searching for it before i ordered my gears. So the gears are ordered along with some anti wrap perches. I'm hoping to get this stuff installed in a couple of weeks.
 






What do you all think about running a mini spool up front? Or should i just pick up a locker? I don't have the funds to buy something like a detriot or an ARB.
 






I would run a autolocker in the front before I would run a spool, a spool in the front would not be fun for turning in 4WD, not that the autolocker is much better in a tight turn but a autolocker will let one tire turn faster.
 






Times a comin for the install on the axles. I'm hoping next weekend we can install the gears. I still don't have a locker for the 44, still looking though. All else fails i'll just install it with the open carrier and then install the locker later. No biggy.

I know nothing about radius arm setups, expect that i just bought a set from a guy at work and he had drilled a hole in the top of the C part where they meet when bolted up and taped that hole to accept a coil seat from a ranger/explorer since he was going to use his ranger coils, so i bought me some coils and still have to get a coil seat. But how do i find what busing i'm going to need for the c wedges (if that's worded right)?

I've seen pictures of radius arms that have been chopped off at the rear and had some tube welded to it with a heim joint on the end to get rid of the bushing. What would you call that setup?
 






The 7* c-bushings (the ones I've seen everyone on this forum run) are for 4" or more lifts.

There is no fancy name for that..it's just an extended and heimed radius arm setup. ;)
 






depends on your radius arm mounts, are you using the factory type?

I am using the factory 78 f-150 radius arm brackets 5.5" springs for about 5" of lift in the front I have the 7 1/2* bushings and when I had it on the machine for the alginment I had 2* more caster than needed.
 






Can i buy the bushing at my local parts store?
 






you can probably order em at a local part store, but www.broncograveyard.com has everything you could need in one stop.

You wheeled with Fordbest98 at tellico... he had a welded front diff, same thing as a spool or minispool. Yeah he broke shafts with the stock shafts and joints so he got chromoly shafts and OX joints and hasnt had issues yet. In the long run its up to you. I am in no way advocating a welded, or spooled front just trying to give examples.

If it were my truck though I would definately invest in a locker of some sorts. I think the Detroit E-Z lokcer would be your best bet cause its one of the cheaper lunchbox lockers out there.
 






I've been looking for a locker for a while now, but no luck. I've been searching for a used one before i fork it out for a new one.
