so today i went to napa to pick up my new IAC valve, i go to put the part in and the damn wiring hareness is different. i have to go to work now and this is wicked annoying.

anyone else have this problem?

Did you try cleaning your old one before replacing it? I know there are quite a few different IAC out there for the Explorer. I thought I had a spare one when I pulled one from a junked Explorer at the yard but the connectors were also the same.. The one I bought from Autozone a few years ago hasn't given me any problems except the usual humming which usually goes away after cleaning it. Just make sure you let it dry completely otherwise you'll hear the humming.

yeah, i cleaned mine. my problem was a rough idle while warm. Cleaning it didnt work, i still had a bunch of crap built up inside mine and the idle still sucked.

yeah i hear yea, i had trouble finding the right one, i went down to the local auto parts store and spent 2 hours trying to find the right one and no luck. So i went to for and spent the extra money and got the right one. U can only prolong the life of the IAC for so long, i found that one out... ;)
