Could be a crapped out battery. Could be a crapped out cluster. When does it go crazy? On startup or randomly while driving? Does it just die and show nothing after even though the truck is still running?
Monitor system voltage while it's happening, an electrical system problem causing low voltage can cause this. Hook up an OBD2 scan tool and look for trouble codes, hopefully a tool that also does Ford specific codes outside the OBD2 set.
