A couple days ago when I turned on my headlights, the dash lights did not come on, and the parking lights turned off......My brakes lights still worked though. When I turned on just the parking lights, the dash lights worked, as well as the parking lights. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem? Also, a couple things I thought that would cause it would be either a relay, or the light switch itself.....Any ideas?? Thanks.........

After checking a few wiring diagrams, I can only come up with it being the switch. If it was the relay, they woundn't come on with the switch in the parking lamp position either.

On our 1992 XLT.. when I blow the fuse for the parking lights.. my dash lights go out..

turned out I had a shorted wire at the back of the truck (pinched between the body mount and the frame)..

Soo... for some reason (and I don't see it in my wireing diagram).. when I don't have dash lights, I don't have parking lights.. but I do like the idea of losing dash lights when I lose my tail lights.. at least I know it happened (but I would prefer a seperate idiot light like my honda had when I had a tail light out)
