Hi Guys

I have been reading here and using your words to solve my problems for quite a while but I cant quite nail this one down.

I have a 2005 explorer that quit ejecting CD's so I decided to update tbe stereo. I purchased a pioneer unit and a wireing adaptor.

The install went fairly normal with exception of the fact that there were 2 plugs on the back of the factory stereo I did not use the smaller one for anything.

Installed the new stereo and noticed when I was driving that night I had no dash or HVAC illumination. The Speedo and all gauges work ... the stereo works and is lit up nicey. The high beam indicator, cruise control, 4x4 lights all work.

Yes I messed with the dimmer...the dome lights come on when I dial it all the way up but still no dash lighting.

I thought maybe a fuse so I checked every one under the hood and near the parking brake pedal to no avail.

I stuck the stock stereo back in and still had no lights....

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Because there was no connection on the pioneer stereo we connected the orange wire and orange/black wire together on the aftermarket harness. These are black and red with black on the factory harness...supposed to be illuminatioñ positive and negative.

So if that caused a fuse to blow its not an easy one to find
