One of the bulbs in the dash of my '95 has died. It is the one which is to the lower left of my speedo, just on top of the steering column. Is there a simple way to get to it for replacement? Thanks for the info.

There is only 1 way to do it, pull it all out and replace ALL of the bulbs at the same time. Them bulbs have gone for almost 10 years now, that's pretty good. Here is a write-up on doing an indiglo gauge install, but don't install the gauges, just look at it to see how everything comes apart and change the bulbs, then put it all back togeather again.

How many 194 bulbs are in the dash?

I wonder how it would look with 194 LED wedgebulbs? Or the Hyperbright 194 bulbs?

They say not much better and you risk burning the green thingy that give the guage color.

Same thing happened to my 95, 4 went out within a month. WIERD!

I used the Long life bulbs. Hopefully I wont have to change them ever again.

I replaced my dash bulbs with the 194 "hyper" white bulbs and they made the characters seem more blue, which is what I wanted. I would like to see what all blue bulbs would look like, but I am thinking about "testing" to see if the needles from a Windstar would fit on the gauges of my Explorer. I would love to have red needles! If anyone has tried this or know it would work, please advise. Thanks!
