Dash Thumping!!??

Started up the 03 this morning and a mechanical thumping noise is coming from under the dash climate control box near the radio! This is so weird. I turned on/off the Heat/AC and as well as the ignition and it still continues with only battery power.It does quiet and go away when I turn the temperature dial to cold.....Ideas anyone?-Thumper.

With just the accessory on, try changing the hot/cold on the climate control, or changing the air direction. This may narrow it down some more.

blend door actuator motor is bad.

Read the post (should be a sticky) about replacing the blend door actuator .

^^^ Agreed. Same thing happening with my SHO. The ticking/thumping is enough to drive you mad. Replacing the blend door actuator should definitely fix this though.

Got it. Read the posts and replaced the blend door actuator. All is in good working order again! On the 2003, I did not have to cut the dash area to accesss the actuator...It was a little tight, but came out and went back in okay. Thanks all!
