daystar bushings

the daystar poly bushings are for stock swaybars, correct?

has anyone tried them, yet?

how much of an effect would these bushings have on handling?

my EX has 40k miles on it and my stock bushings appear to be in good condition.

would the time and money be worth the results?

Hello all,

Just to give you an honest opinion. Sure I'd love to sell you some however

If you only have 40k on your ex and the rubber material is not compressed or cracked you will notice little differance in handling. Nothing but serious cash is going so make a 5000lb slug into a porsche..

However if you have lowered the beast and spent time and hard cash in good tires, rims (correct fit) and shocks then you may want to consider replacing them as they will now be your "weakest" point...

The poly bushing are firmer than the factory rubber and will allow for less mush/slop under load..

Forgot to mention that I noticed a distinct differance after installing the bushings on the front and rear bars. My factory endlink bushings were shot (101k on the odometer) The stock bushings were cracked and mushroomed out, you could see the bolt going through the bushing at an angle and could see the bolt move when rocking the car.

The sway bars are now much more effective and the annoying body sway when driving is gone.

I took some photos of how bad my end links were if you are interested in what to look for I can post them.

i think i know what you're talking about when you say they're "mushroomed". That desrcibes the way mine look(they aren't cracked, though). They look like they've been squeezed and the ends are alot fatter than the middle.

right now, i have a 2" drop with stock shocks. I'll probably go lower and add shocks soon, but i'm still debating how much lower to go and which shocks to use.

after i get that done, i'm going to try out the daystar bushings.

2" drop on stock shocks!! Your poor back!!!

Get some good shocks, your back will love you, with a 2" lift I am running the KYB GR2, if I was lowered I would run KYB gas-adjust. But you know what they say about everyone having an opinion

In your case it sounds like the sway bar bushings will help you out. You may also want to take a look at your spring eye and shackle bushings.

Hank I just changed out my sway bar links last week with poly,what are the ones that are bolted to the frame up front called,the sway bar looks like it runs through those,do you sell just those? Thanks hank for your time

actually, the ride isn't that bad. if i decide to leave it where it's at, i'll probably stick with the stock shocks for awhile and buy other stuff first.

but, if i go a couple of inches lower, shocks will be my first priority.

i don't know about the kyb shocks for lowered vehicles. i've heard alot of stories about them riding great when they're new, but the ride detiorates fast.

if i keep it where it's at, i'll get monroe reflexes or edelbrock ias. if i go lower, i'm going for the doescth tech(sp?).
