Daytime Running Lamps Module

Folks

I understand that the Canadian Models of the Explorer have been equipped with a Daytime Running Lamp Module mounted under the front bumper.

The models we drive over here in Europe haven't this module but the connector. This lead to some questions:

1. Is there a chance that one of you Canadians has some connections to a wrecker and could supply us with such a used Daytime Running Lamp Module so we could test if they work over here? (Preferable for the 2000 Model)
   
   
2. Which models (years) have been equipped with those modules over there?
   
   
3. If they work there is the change to supply some more to members of the European Explorer Boards. Could you deliver more of those modules? Price?

Why do you want one so badly? I deactivated mine so I could run a HID kit on my Explorer. Doesn't mean I want to part with mine. It's still in place. I just unplugged it. Having used daytime running lights for so many years I can honestly say I'm happy not to have them. I like being able to turn off my lights completely or to be able to run with just my corner lights etc.

From what I understand, they'll work on ALL 2nd gen models no matter where they originate.. I've read stories of Americans adding the "upgrade" to their Explorers too. Probably no different than the Euro versions.

I don't remember when DRL became mandatory in Canada, but it was some time ago.

since were talking about lights... for some reason my brights are screwed up... when i turn the borghts on my foglights go dead and thats all! i replaced all of the lights in the front of the truck... so im thinking the bright light part of the bulb went out and i just need new ones? is that possible for half of the bulb go out?

HID lighting kit. The lower voltage of the daytime running lights actually cause problems with the HID bulbs.

They're mandatory here too, but the rule doesn't really get enforced because it's assumed all new cars come with them (which they do).

the foglights will automatically shut off when highbeams are engaged.

Yup, highs and fogs aren't supposed to go on at same time. There are workarounds, but OEM setup works that way. Well, that was how it worked in all my 2nd gen Explorers anyhow.
