I've got a 2001 Explorer 4.0 SHOC, ran fine until 2 days ago.

The first night it froze here it stopped starting.
It turns over, starts, then immediately dies near idle. If I floor it when starting, it revs up to about 4.5k and then immediately dies.

We actually were able to get it to start once, and we let it idle -- however once I revved it up it started stumbling, making white smoke (it is cold out..), then went back to idle, stumbled, and died.

It has a full charge on the battery, thought it was the IAC -- put a brand new one in. I can hear the fuel pump come on when I put the ignition in start. Listened to the relays.

Any ideas?

Head gasket man!!!! The onlything that make white smoke is Prestone that is burning ..so your head gasket is blown. You will have to change also your oil and lfush the cooling system because most of times a leaking head gasket make the engine oil mix with prestone. Its a costly job and i hope you did not damaged more your engine. Stop trying to start it and make it repair right away.
