Here's the deal. My girlfriend has 1994 explorer with a manual transmissin. It went bye bye and the shop stated that she needed a new one. Oh course they want entirely too much to fix it so I may do it myself. My questions are, where is a good place to locate a used one, preferably around nor cal. Next are there any tips or tricks for this swap? How much might I plan to pay for a used tranny. Last are all explorer manual trannies created equal? Thanks
:)

Also would a ranger transmission work? Or any ford tranny for that matter. Thanks Again

Just the clutch, or the entire transmission??? The ranger 5spd should work. Run a search for manual transmission and you may find the info you are looking for on how to R&R. Welcome to the board and Good Luck!

IT was the whole tranny. Thanks man. :D
