Dear Ford - I would like a refund on MFT, please

I'm through farting around with this POS software/hardware called MyFordTouch. After its introduction, a major upgrade, and minor upgrades along the way, it still doesn't work right.

There are expressed warranties, and an implied warranty of merchantability that accompany my vehicle. You need to honor them.

From your website, I figure I spent about $1,500 for this kludge.

You will be receiving a letter from me soon with a formal request and the mail address to which you can send my check.

I feel the same way you do but like many on this forum have already said .......talk is cheap.

Not only write a letter to Ford but use the Lemon Laws in your area.

I went to arbitration and it worked out for the better.

The Ohio Lemon Law IIRC only covers "major systems" - engine, transmission, etc.

And talk? That's not what I intend to do.

I can't believe that Ford did not release this POS software/hardware without knowing of major flaws, or that someone, somewhere at Ford didn't say "we're close. really close. there won't be many people affected by the shortcomings and we will fix them very quickly after we release it."

I paid good money for something that was flawed from the start and continues to be so. I experience some kind of problem with it daily. From warning messages that won't clear to controls that will not work to the system losing its mind and requiring major restarts. And I know it's not just me.

So - BS on the "we're going to extend your warranty a year" and "we're not going to charge you for this 'maintenance release'".

It is time for Ford to open up their wallet. We've all been frustrated by the flaws, errors, and shortcomings of this system for way too long.
 






the mft is incorporated into most of the systems in the vehicle like heat , sounds and engine, so that makes it a MAJOR system,,
 






It seems some have had trouble from the start with MFT while others have had no issues!

Luckily mine has been fairly stable so far. My only issue was one morning sync had trouble with voice commands but was ok after restarting the vehicle.

Hopefully Ford makes it right for you!
 






Ya gotta wonder what is going on with the system. Some vehicles it works extremely well (mine is one of the lucky ones) and other's it's horrible..
 






My guess is quality of the parts. For example, my old car and new car parked next to each other today when I went to pick it up. Old car, gps showed 4 satellites available. New car showed 9.

Obviously something was wrong with the old car that they weren't able to or didn't care to fix. Took them to arbitration, won, and have a brand new car.
