Decieded againest Struttek struts.

I had similar results, an inch lower in the rear but it did raise it 2 full inches. I was hoping it would come down some, but in over 10 weeks it hasn't. The front raised it 1/2", so not all bad. I think the struts ride quality is great, not too stiff but definitely firmer than stock and better in the corners.

I agree with the ride quality. I figure since both rear springs were broken, I would get some height.

Hey guys, well mine did not line up perfect either on the rears just bolt the top 3 nuts in place then use a pry bar to rotate the lower end to line up on your a arm. They did add 3" to my truck and i have over 4000 miles on them and only dropped 1/2" max still rides hi on the rear so I gotta get my fronts in soon they are sitting next to me right now in the boxes lol. I think they are nice and ride nice, I pull a 5x8 trailer and no complaints.

Thanks for the update!

I am sure they are ok struts and a great company to deal with @ Strut Assembly. Few people have had them on this site and no one has complained about them OR REALLY posted much about them .

My reason is I have swapped struts out of other cars many... of times and it shouldnt be any different removing the springs on my explorer. I see the quick strut market where you just unbolt the stock stuff and put the new stuff in. But removing a spring really isnt hard with a spring compressor.

Thanks for the site and link. I was looking for a strut assembly that I plan to purchase next month and have it shipped. Will see what prices they have on.

Mine have been on for a little over a month and they are still riding like brand new. Going to move forward with the plan to have them installed on the front!!

I would recommend these as well. Big cost savings compared to others and ride quality is like new. This set replaced the original struts and springs at around 104k, and have had them on since summer.

OK, I've had my PC Strutek struts on the rear end of my 02 mounty since last August.... So far so good! Apparently I have a broken front drivers side spring... I've gotta change the front pair. Any advice on how to do it? I got a 2.5" raise and have maintained about 2" since October 2010.

I had a much easier time doing the fronts than the rears. If you did the back it isn't a whole lot different.

so how's the struttek holding up? planning on buying a pair for my rears.
currently $66 in amazon with free shipping.

I have a pair of them on the rear and have no complaints! :D:thumbsup:

Cool, does this come with new nuts and bolts ? Especially the big nut on the LCA. The service manual says to discard the old nuts and use new ones. I know it's made in china but it's more of hit and miss chances.

I plan on just replacing the coils (moog) but since it's 110k miles I think the shocks will not last that long too. I've looked at Monroes Quick Strut and it seems ok but Struttek beats them in price.

I think the only thing that ford forgot about 2002 explorers was put the "built with pride in usa with parts made in china".

Just the top 3 nuts on top of the tower. I reused everything else. I did quite abit of research before buying as well, and figured for the price I would go with the Struttek figuring the steel can not be any worse than what I was taking off. Also, two of my shocks were blown with 103k on them when I did the replace.

:us:Mine are holding up very well thus far. The originals were a pos! I couldn't have done any worse then Ford did with the originals. Gained 2+ inches after settling in... I would do it again, especially for $66 and free shipping.:us:

Hey BigRondo, Go Jets Buddy! Also, I'm going to post on my aggravating problem of the constant click or is it clunk when doing k turns, or backing in and out of parking lots or driveways... I'll need some advice.

Best to all
