Does any body here when building engine still degree in the cam using a degreing wheel? I never put a engine together without doing this. Even with all the computer assisted design and computer run lathes and such, mistakes can be made. Even the last stage before it's sent to you. Someone could pack the wrong cam in the wrong box. Also I like the option of advancing or retarding the cam.

I haven't built an engine in ages, but I always used a degree wheel.... still sits in my tool box. I see nothing about computer control that would alter the importance of degreeing the cam.

That's all I need to hear. Can not seem to find mine. I see where Jegs has some large ones. Mine was 11" and they have some larger dia. ones, and thats the one I'll get. Thanks for reply

Yep...got my handy-dandy Mr. Gasket degree wheel sitting in my toolbox....Don't build a motor without one.
