Just wondering if there are people who have a manged to delete or disconnect the ac system but retain heating and or fan abillities.

The reason I ask is that my ac compressor has been seized for going on 15 years now, and since I plan to keep the car, I've been looking into ways to re attain heat or airflow inside.

Don't have the expertise to troubleshoot a 20 year old ac system just yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

remove hardlines, remove compressor, replace with either a ac delete bracket or belt for no AC trucks....take out accumulator. None of the will effect your heat. Though your defrost may suffer a little as that used the compressor.

I am pretty sure it was SwaintaN that did an a/c delete. IIRc, he pulled his a/c heater box and put in a heat only box to get more room under the hood.

Yes I did I pulled non ac box. Removed all ac components. Non ac belt non ac heater box. Heat was still string. Les drag on motor. Gained 1mile to the tank of gas.

did you have to rewire anything or did you just leave all the assorted connectors unplugged?

No rewiring. Only thing I had to do was a bypass tube had to be connected. I'll get link in a lil bit I covered it so plus pics. U do use your blower motor. And replace the fuse like thing below it. I'll get u info soon.

Sounds like you've already succeeded, being that the compressor is seized. I'd just pull the electrical connector off the compressor. That way it won't try to turn on. Ever.

Everything will work, just no cold air.

Also if u eliminate the ac system u can install on board air system in place of compressor that runs of belt. Not sure how much wheeling and mudding u do. Might not be worth it to u.

excellent. im deep into a head replacement now but this will be my next project

So many willing to live with no AC??? Man try that here!!!
Then again I live with no heat....Removed the heater core :D

A/C box removal

I have everything A/C removed except the box. Can it be replaced with a non A/C panel and are all the fasteners on the engine side of the firewall? Thanks.
