No one makes them for a 1st gen anymore. At least not the real good ones that bolt to the frame. You might find a used one here & there on Ebay or the black market here. The alternatives are the brush/grill guards that bolts to the bumper, but most of them are skinny looking.
Look at the other brush guard post below. Look into the 1 I got from JCwhitney. It has held up well & is plenty strong for my needs.

Your X is gorgeous, I really like it.

If you don't want the brushguard look perhaps you want something more befitting a 4x4? Check this out and see if it seems like what you want:

They're expensive but pretty well built and tough. I bought mine years ago and it's tough as nails, much better than a brush guard since you can actually hit things with it, though the prerunner design it has does protect the headlights. Just an option to consider if you want something prebuilt.

If you were set on an over-the-bumper brushguard, you can probably find some that offer the option of not having the headlight guards, or perhaps offer ones that are just large tubes around the lights without the smaller tubes in front of the lights.

I see you said you didnt wan the one that goes over the head lights but I have the MANIK4x4 push bar(used by NYPD) to push vehicles off the highway, they do not make it anymore but you can find them in local junk yards or on here everyonce in a while. I can stand behind the quality from experience and its stronger then any other ones I have seen, Jon
