I've heard of dry-ice being able to pop hail dents out (paintless dent repair).. can anyone second this? I'd like to try this on my door dings but I dont have a procedure..

Every thing you need to know is here.

Any further questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Don't lie - you shot it yourself to show your excellent technique! ;)

So, in other words, there's no way to just pull the dents without spending the big bucks on new paint/body work?

What about that "cool tool" they used to advertise on late-night TV? The one that just "pops" dents right back into place?

Yeah, it is a joke. Think about it. What a dent is, and HOW this could even possibly work.

Pops-A-Dent probabally works on one out of onethousand dents, at best.

DRY ICE METHOD OF DENT REMOVAL

For small dings and dents, a process of heat and extreme cold may force the dent out on its own. Heat the dent with a specialized tool or blow dryer. Once its heated, apply dry ice directly on to the dents surface. The dent should pop out.

NOTE: Dry ice can cause damage to skin instantly. Always wear gloves when handling dry ice.

Dry Ice - Urban Myth

One method that always circulates is using dry ice to contract the displaced aluminum (dent) causing it to pop back into place... I bought 5# of dry ice from the local dairy and set to work. I tried every process I could think of, cooling the dent itself, the area around the dent, trying it with hot skin, and cool skin, long soak, etc. The dents were never affected. A body shop guy I talked to says that it will work on steel panels but not aluminum. Even the body shops have stopped this method with the use of electromagnets and vacuum (paintless dent removal). The vacuum is an idea that still may be worth a try.

Myth Busted :D

Plungers and suction cups dont work worth a crap either.

Good grief !!!!!!!!!!!!
That first thread says to sand the body filler in 1500 grit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That will take you freaking forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
