Did I fix my check engine light problem?

So 5 months ago I got a check engine light. I didn't worry about it until yesterday because my inspection expired. The codes were P0171 and P0174. I followed some tutorials from this forum where people said to clean my MAF Sensor and my Idle Air Control Valve. So I did that with the CRC Cleaner and I reset the check engine light (battery cable) and so far since yesterday I drove over 100 miles. I have no Check Engine Light and my car seems to have more acceleration/less hesitation. I have to do the inspection tomorrow, so just wondering. Did I fix my issue or will my CEL come back on? I think I performed enough drive cycles to pass my NY State Inspection right?

Ford MAF are well known for causing issues that can be solved by cleaning the sensor. I think you are OK!

I think I should mention that I have no idea what legislation applies and how many cycles you need to pass. I just mean that the MAF needs cleaning occasionally. Once cleaned it is good to go again.

Thank you! I guess the only way to find out is wait for my appointment tomorrow for my inspection. I really hope I pass it and no check engine light appears when driving there lol. Appreciate you commenting

Take along a wrench to disconnect the battery in case
the CEL reappears. Since you've driven 100 miles
already, you're probably OK.

a mechanic i trust once told me it can take as many as 500 miles for a CEL to return (seems like a lot to me) but aren't those codes (0171/0174) related to "lean" condition?

i doubt you've fixed the problem by cleaning the MAF and IAC, but if the light doesn't come back, great. BTW can't the emissions testing determine when codes were last cleared?

I went to my doctors appointment at 8am. No check engine light. Appointment ended so I started the car and while driving CEL came back on so I didn't fix it lol. I removed both battery terminals, drove it for 30 miles both on the highway and city and went straight to my dealer/mechanic. He did the inspection and my heart was pounding when he put the obd2 scanner. Luckily I passed with flying colors and I have a new inspection sticker.

Still mad I have a check engine light. I really hate it. I hope I don't have a serious problem.

you don't say which engine you have. i'm going to assume it's the SOHC V6. these codes are very common to this engine. if i'm not mistaken, they indicate a vacuum leak (lean banks 1 & 2). this can be caused by a vacuum leak anywhere, but it's very often caused by intake manifold gasket/o-ring leaks.
