SO this is my first truck and my first time buying tires for it. I'm used to the measurement found on car tires, you know 225/65/16 and all that. And I understand what a 31x10.5 is. But why the different measuring? The ones measured in inches are AT tires unlike of the ones measured in metrics which are LT tires right? Are 265's about the same height as 31's? If not what is? Costco won't put 31's on my rig because they're a AT tire. But their price is so good. Help.

to do the calculation, i need 265/?/?

my Ranger came from the factory with Wilderslick P-265/75/15s and i just replaced them with BFG AT KOs LT-31/10.5/15s... basicly the same size, but the new tires have just a leeetle bit more tread, so they look a little bigger.

there are not many options in the 265/75/15 size, but EVERYONE makes a 31/10.5/15

Costco has good prices, but you might be able to come close at an indie tire shop that won't have a problem replacing metric-sized tires with inch-sized, or you could buy the tires at Costco and have them mounted somewhere else.

the P tires stands for Passenger vehicle and LT is Light Truck, which should have a sturdier sidewall.
