Are they any differences between SOHC engines from different years or different models (explorers, sports, sport-tracs, rangers)?

I came upon this website and it gives different ratings for the different models of the 2002 explorer SOHC. I've also seen this hinted elsewhere. How could this be???

"Horsepower (SAE net @ rpm)
210 @ 5100 (Explorer 4-Door)
203 @ 5250 (Explorer Sport)
210 @ 5200 (Explorer Sport Trac)

Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm)
254 @ 3700 (Explorer 4-Door)
237 @ 3000 (Explorer Sport)
240 @ 3000 (Explorer Sport Trac)"

interesting.

why would they be different, especially the intake and computer?

At the Louisville Assembly Plant, you can see the different engines beforre they get stuffed into the Explorers/Sports/Sport Tracs. Even though they are V6's there is a visual difference, so performance would also be different as well.

I read on Ford's site around a year or so ago that the HP differences were due to different programming in the computer. I wish they would have left it at one programming so I could have 210HP and 254 torque. Not the 203 and 237 that I have, respectively.
