Help, I just had 225/70/16 tires put on the front of my '97 sport, i still have the 255/70/16 on the back. I switched on the 4wd and the truck just about ground too a halt, I was only going 5 mph, so I stopped and turned off the 4wd.

Will putting 225/70/16 on the back as well relieve this issue?

And dont engage 4wd on pavement - which typically results to almost grinding to a halt when the vehicle is making any turns. :)

who advised you that it was ok to put mismatching tires on your 4wd vehicle? if it was a tire place, take it back and make them give you the right tires and tell them theyre lucky you dont sue them for throwing some mismatched tires on your ride and not knowing it could damage your rig. not only should you have matching size tires, they should have even wear too.
