Difficulty Rating for Noob/Female Fuel Filter Install

Yes, that's it. Sorry. I don't have the words down yet. But I can locate it! And yes, I did lube the window channels with silicon spray. That was a good tip. Thanks Koda. BTW, for some reason, the fuel filter gave me no problems. Hard to be on ground on back and had to wrestle a bit but she was very nice to me, thank goodness. I was also prepared to be patient and persistent and careful thanks to the words here..

I'm at 125K and talked to shop about fuel pump. That's a very expensive repair I learned!! Just one last question before I head down the grade. Friend just now told me that the diag tool I borrowed was an OBD-2. Should I still get a fuel pressure gauge and test? The OBD-2 showed no problems.

You can use a dial type air pressure gauge for testing fuel pressure. work it just like checking a tire, realizing that you have to keep applying pressure to the valve, and, if you let the pressure release a little fuel will squirt out, so have a rag wrapped around the base of the valve. With the engine at idle, stick the gauge on quickly, get your reading and pull the gauge off quickly. Set this gauge in your tool box with a label on it that says "fuel".
Although my cheap slime brand dial air gauge still works after using it for both purposes, I cannot promise the fuel usage won't ruin the gauge. but it will work the first time, for only around 4-5 bux at wally world. do not use the type of gauge the pushes out a rod. Dial type only here.

Glad to hear back from you. I was kind of worried. Looks like the home made ramps worked good. Sweet!

My wife said we will take you up on your offer, because your location sounds like heaven.

:)
You'll probably have a yard full of explorer's and tents now!

Glad the fuel filter turned out to be easy to change. Some people here (men) seem to never be able to get them off.

Changing the fuel pump isn't that hard to do as long as you're not dealing with a lot of rust. I've done it 7 times now and have it down to a science. As long as your fuel gauge still works, you only need to replace the pump part (around $60 on eBay) plus the filter sock (around $15). I've written up instructions on doing the job. The first time I did this job it probably took be a good 1/2 day. It now takes me about 1.5 hours with the short cuts I've learned.
